An update on the mystery quilt..........the aim is to sell 500 kits - the tally to date is 151 kits - so we still have a way to go!! These are the most amazing days as you can see by the photos - of course to get the privilege and expertise of Lessa and Faye as your personal teacher is worth attendance in itself! The following is to entice you.........(but no sneek peek at the quilt design - sorry)

Check out the lunch that is provided!!

Included in the worshop is not only step by step notes and assistance with the mystery quilt but also:

• Lunch (as you can see) and morning & afternoon tea / coffee (all day really)
• Unpickers on standby (reverse sewers I think that means)
• Personal pressers (Yes volunteers to iron as well as unpick for you - no ironing of clothes though!)
• Prizes
• Loads of fun and laughter

She has a wicked sense of humour and loves shopping!! Over the years we have had a couple of shopping sessions together times that I really treasure. One year I had been eyeing off a Spencer & Rutherford bag for some months but it was really way over my budget.........post Christmas sales finally arrived and I picked Lauren up at 6.30am (a shock to her and me that early!!). I excitedly got to David Jones for the said bag which was nearly half price.......my heart was all a flutter and Lauren very calmly said to me, "You don't need that bag Michele".......and do you know what - I didn't buy it because of that comment!! Something I will never forget......'gotta love her!!'

Lessa has asked me to say Thankyou and to let you know she has been thrilled to receive your emails. Welcome to the Bedford mystery quilt blog! We will keep you up to date with progress and information.

Where and how did this all start? Last year was the inaugural Bedford mystery quilt fundraiser - an idea created by Lessa Siegele OAM. Faye one of our special friends has a daughter who attends Bedford. Follow this link to learn more about this amazing organisation;

Bedford is a charity in South Australia that allows people with a disability the opportunity to work and live independently.

Last year almost 300 quilters joined forces for the first time to raise over $15,000 for people with a disability or disadvantage...............lets break this record next year!!

How can you help?

You can purchase a quilt top kit for just $60. This includes all the fabric pre-cut with step by step instructions. Now it is a 'mystery quilt' so no more info about what the quilt looks like!
